Rest In Peace Dr. John Kermode

Yesterday I logged onto facebook and discovered some awful news. Today the school confirmed it in an e-mail. Dr. John Kermode passed away suddenly from a heart attack yesterday. Dr. Kermode was one of my favorite professors of all time.  He was an excellent lecturer and made understanding difficult concepts easy.  He took extra time to make sure you understood what he was teaching.  He was available for mentoring and generally assisting students with problems not directly related to his lectures.  He even was on the school bowling league.  I was very much looking forward to being taught by him again in the future, and I am very sad that this will not come to pass.  This is a huge loss for the school and the students.  I am deeply saddened by this news. My thoughts go to his family and loved ones. I have experienced loss and I know it isn't easy.
